Andrea Kimi Antonelli's Contract

Andrea Kimi Antonelli is an Italian racing driver who will drive for Mercedes in the 2025 F1 season. Although he has not yet made his Formula One debut in the 2025 season, he did make his maiden free practice appearance in the 2024 Italian Grand Prix, when he posted the quickest lap during the first session in George Russell's W15. Up until 2023, Antonelli has won several championship titles consecutively including the FR European (2023), the FR Middle East (2023), the ADAC F4 (2022), and the Italian F4 (2022).

Antonelli has been a member of the Mercedes Junior Team since 2019 and is confirmed to replace Lewis Hamilton in the 2025 season of Formula One, partnering with fellow European George Russell on a one-year contract until the end of 2025. Antonelli is set to debut at the Australian Grand Prix in 2025 and become the third-youngest driver in Formula One at 18 years old and 203 days old as well as the first Italian driver in Formula One since Antonio Giovinazzi in 2021.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s 2025 Contract

Andrea Kimi Antonelli was confirmed as a full-time replacement for Lewis Hamilton just a day after the former made his free practice debut in Monza. Antonelli’s contract is reportedly somewhat similar to his British partner George Russell. Both drivers' contracts are set to end at the end of the 2025 season of Formula One with various options for extensions to their existing contract.

Lewis Hamilton left Mercedes at the end of the 2024 season of Formula One and signed an agreement with Scuderia Ferrari on a multi-year deal which accelerated Antonelli’s promotion to Formula One. During the 2024 season, Antonelli was rumored to replace Logan Sargeant at Williams, but Mercedes denied the move and recommended Mick Schumacher instead, as per ESPN.
