Thatcher Douglas Demko is an American professional ice hockey goaltender playing for the Vancouver Canucks in the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on December 8, 1995, he was selected 36th overall by the Canucks in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Before the NHL, Demko honed his hockey skills in the United States Hockey League in the 2011-12 season and later went to the U.S. National Development Team where he secured a silver medal at the 2012 World U17 Hockey Challenge. Demko advanced to college hockey, playing for the Boston College Eagles between 2013 and 2016, where he won the Mike Richter Award, presented to the most outstanding goaltender in NCAA Division for the 2015-16 season.

He made his NHL debut on March 31, 2018, against the Columbus Blue Jackets and instantly made an impact in the league. However, it was until a year before he earned a full-time backup position for Demko. The subsequent years have seen exhibit remarkable performances, earning accolades such as the NHL Third Star of the Month and an NHL All-Star selection in 2022 and 2024.
