He was born on September 17, 1985, and is one of the greatest goal-scorers in hockey history. Ovechkin was drafted by the Capitals in 2004 and has played his entire 18-season NHL career with the team. In his rookie season, he scored 52 goals and 54 assists and won the Calder Memorial Trophy as Rookie of the Year.
