Spencer Michael Rattler, also known as Spencer Rattler is an American football quarterback for the New Orleans Saints as of the 2024 NFL season. He was selected by the New Orleans Saints with the 150th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL draft. He attended Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, Arizona, and made a new record for high school passing yards in school history. Rattler was featured in a Netflix documentary called QB:1 Beyond the Lights, in his senior year at high school. Rattler was one of the highest-rated quarterback prospects coming out of high school and later enrolled at the University of Oklahoma. He redshirted his freshman year at college and became a starter in his sophomore year at college. As the starting quarterback, he led the Oklahoma Sooners to a 6th consecutive Big 12 Championship, winning 27–21 over Iowa State. He transferred to South Carolina University in 2022 where he is slated to be a starting quarterback in the upcoming season. As a Gamecock, he started 25 games in two seasons and threw for 6,212 yards and 37 touchdowns. Rattler got his first start in the NFL against Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a week 6 matchup in the 2024 season after Saints starting quarterback Derek Carr went down with an injury in week 5.
