Born on February 19, 1995, in Serbia, Nikola Jokic is a Serbian professional basketball player who plays at the center position for the Denver Nuggets as of May 2025. Jokic began his professional career playing for the Serbian team Mega Basket in 2012, where he played for two seasons before declaring for the NBA draft. Nikola Jokic, also called 'Joker', was selected with the 41st overall pick by the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 2014 NBA draft.
Jokic has also been named a seven-time NBA All-Star from 2019 to 2025 and the NBA's Most Valuable Player (MVP) for 2021, 2022, and 2024. Jokic is the only MVP in NBA history who was selected in the second round of the common era.
