Anthony Edwards is a basketball player for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Timberwolves chose him with the first overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft. He has been selected to the NBA All-Star game three times, has made the All-NBA Second Team twice, and won a gold medal with the U.S. Olympic team in 2024.
Edwards completed his high school career at Holy Spirit Preparatory School in his hometown, Atlanta, Georgia. He was a consensus five-star recruit. As a senior, he was selected McDonald's All-American and USA Today All-USA first team. He decided to play college basketball at Georgia and became the most highly-rated recruit to do so.
