Michael Chandler, nicknamed "Iron" was born on April 24, 1986, in High Ridge, Missouri. He is a former three-time Bellator Lightweight Champion and is currently considered one of the best lightweight contenders in the UFC. With his high-octane fighting style and relentless aggression, he's become a fan favorite, as he is consistently involved in exciting matchups. Standing at 5'8" with a reach of 71.5 inches, Chandler comes in with an impressive record of 23-9-0 heading into UFC 314. A former NCAA All-American wrestler while at the University of Missouri, where he also trained with Tyron Woodley, he has a good base in wrestling that works well to complement his elite striking.
Chandler’s career in MMA started in 2009, and after winning by TKO in the first round against Kyle Swadley, he was signed to Bellator in 2010. He made his UFC debut in 2021, with some even thinking his talent would warrant him a title shot right away.
