Love started playing prep football at the Christian Brothers College High School and led the football team to back-to-back state championships. The running back from St. Louis was rated a four-star prospect by major sports outlets and was identified as the No.3 player in the state of Missouri. During his senior season, Love was named the 2022 Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year after rushing for 1,292 yards and 22 touchdowns while catching 13 receptions for 370 yards and five touchdowns, as per Notre Dame's official website.

Jeremiyah Love embarked on his collegiate football journey with Notre Dame over offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Iowa, Iowa State, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Washington, among others. As a freshman in 2023 with the Fighting Irish, Love appeared in 13 games and recorded 385 rushing yards with one touchdown. In 2024, Love was named the starting running back for Notre Dame and started all 16 games for the program.
