The Wizards are on an eight-game losing streak, the longest in the NBA and their season seems to be going absolutely nowhere. Much like what was anticipated by experts before the season started, Washington is on a rebuild mode and is unlikely to compete for a playoff spot.

It most recently suffered a 111-105 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday. While the Wizards mostly stayed competitive, and in fact had a four-point lead at the end of the third, a 29-19 final period saw them lose the game. CJ McCollum led the team in scoring with 25 points.

Washington’s only injury concern is Bilal Coulibaly who has been ruled out for Monday’s game with a calf injury.

The Pistons, in complete contrast to the Wizards, have the longest win streak in the league at six. After a dismal 2023-24 campaign where they had the worst record in the East, this has been quite some turnaround in a short span behind Cade Cunningham’s stellar play.

Detroit will play the second leg of a back-to-back after defeating the Philadelphia 76ers 111-108 on Sunday. Cunningham had a double-double of 26 points and 11 assists. Jalen Duren had a double-double as well with 21 points and 16 rebounds.

The Pistons are expected to be without Tobias Harris (ankle), Jaden Ivey (right knee), Isaiah Stewart (ankle) and Marcus Sasser (hip).
