The Philadelphia 76ers’ three-game win streak came to an end on Sunday with a 112-108 loss to the Lakers in Pennsylvania. However, it was not all doom and gloom for 76ers rookie VJ Edgecombe, who went up against his "favorite player," LeBron James, for the first time.During the post-game interview, Edgecombe opened up about playing against his childhood hero, offering his honest feelings."I mean, I am still a kid, to be honest," Edgecombe said. "To be honest, he (LeBron) was my favorite player growing up. The only reason I started playing basketball."Continuing to reflect on his matchup against James, the rookie revealed they exchanged jerseys after the game, though he admitted the moment would’ve felt even better had the 76ers come away with the win."To get his jersey means a lot to me, but I want to win it would feel better if we won and I got his jersey," Edgecombe continued.Edgecombe recorded 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists against the Lakers. However, the 76ers were unable to get the victory after LeBron James' clutch performance sent Philly packing.LeBron took over late in the game, scoring 11 points in under four minutes. He buried three three-pointers and knocked down a clutch shot that gave the Lakers a five-point cushion with less than 30 seconds left.The four-time NBA champion finished the game with 29 points as the win capped a 2-1 East Coast road trip for the Lakers.
