Phoenix Suns vs OKC Thunder preview
The Thunder and Suns finished No. 1 and 2, respectively, in West Group A and meet again just two weeks after their knockout-stage duel in which the defending champs escaped with a 123-119 win. That remains the tightest victory for the Thunder, a team boasting a dominant average point differential of 16.17 per game, this season.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s late-game shotmaking proved pivotal as he tallied a game-high 37 points, while teammates Chet Holmgren (23 points, eight rebounds) and Jalen Williams (11 points, eight assists) delivered timely contributions.
The Suns were paced by Collin Gillespie’s 24 points, including six triples, while Devin Booker and Dillon Brooks chipped in 21 and 19 points, respectively.
Booker has missed Phoenix’s last two outings due to a right groin strain, and both Jalen Green and Isaiah Livers remain sidelined for the Suns. For the Thunder, Isaiah Hartenstein and Isaiah Joe are unavailable.
OKC comes into the matchup riding a 15-game winning streak, tying the franchise record. The Thunder are fresh off a 131-101 rout in Utah on Sunday, despite playing without Gilgeous-Alexander for the first time this season due to left elbow bursitis.
Both teams sit atop the league in steals per game, with the Suns at 10.8 and the Thunder at 10.0. But the Thunder stand alone with the league’s most efficient defense, posting a 104.1 defensive rating, while the Suns rank 12th at 113.4.
This showdown offers a compelling battle of defensive pressure and intensity, with the winner advancing to the semifinals to face the Spurs or Lakers.

Phoenix Suns vs OKC Thunder prediction
Devin Booker’s status looms as a major variable in this matchup. Still, the Thunder have routinely overwhelmed opponents with their defense, and Booker's potential absence only seems to tilt things even further in OKC's favor. We expect the Thunder to control this one convincingly.
Our prediction: Thunder win by 17.
