Division rivals, the Phoenix Suns and the LA Lakers, match up on Monday night for the first time this season. The Suns looked impressive with their 11-6 run to open the season, but have been 1-3 since then. They have struggled against opponents .500 or better, losing against the Houston Rockets, OKC Thunder and Denver Nuggets, who beat them 130-112 on Saturday.

Dillon Brooks was again the leading scorer over Devin Booker, who hasn't achieved the feat in six games. Brooks had 27 points on 10 of 18 shots, while Booker had 24 on just 11 attempts.

He did most of his damage from the free-throw line, shooting 14 of 15. Phoenix hung on fairly well until the first half, but had no answers for Nikola Jokic in the second.

On the other hand, the Lakers have a season-high seven-game winning streak. They overcame the New Orleans Pelicans 133-121 on Sunday. Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves and Deandre Ayton handled business in LeBron James' absence.
