Philadelphia 76ers vs. Milwaukee Bucks preview

The Philadelphia 76ers opened the season strong, taking four of their first five games. But their momentum slipped in November, as they went 6–9. Still, they’ve bounced back to start this month on a positive note, picking up back-to-back wins in their first two outings.

Sitting in the middle of the pack, the 76ers' place in the standings is reflected by their mediocre performances on the court. They hold the league’s 16th-ranked offense at 116.7 points per game, while their defense sits a bit lower, giving up 117.0 points per game.

Tyrese Maxey has been the team’s steady anchor, starting all but one game this season and putting up an impressive 32.5 points and 7.5 assists per night. Behind him, Quentin Grimes has been the next most consistent contributor, posting 17.0 points per game.

On the other hand, the Milwaukee Bucks have followed a similar path to the 76ers. They also opened the season 4–1 but stumbled through November, winning just five of their 16 games. This month has shown a slight uptick, as they’ve started 1–1 in their first two outings.

In terms of performance, the Bucks have been below average on both ends of the floor. They sit 20th in both offensive and defensive rankings, scoring 115.8 points per game while allowing 117.8.

Unsurprisingly, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been their best performer, with the Greek Freak averaging 28.9 points, 10.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game. Ryan Rollins has been their next most impactful contributor, putting up 17.9 points per night.

Both teams head into this matchup dealing with injuries to key players. The 76ers will be without Paul George, Kelly Oubre Jr., and Trendon Watford, while the Bucks will once again miss Giannis Antetokounmpo and Taurean Prince.
