The New Orleans Pelicans brace themselves for a disappointing update from star forward Zion Williamson. ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Tuesday that Williamson will miss extended time due to a right adductor injury. The forward had his left hamstring injury management and missed Sunday's game against the LA Lakers. Williamson has played just 10 games for the Pelicans this season. During that stretch, he's averaged 22.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists. It's early in the 2025-26 NBA season, and the two-time All-Star has struggled to stay healthy. Early in the campaign, the big man missed eight straight games due to a hamstring issue.Charania reported that the former Duke star is expected to miss at least three weeks. The insider also revealed that Williamson will be re-evaluated after the three weeks. With Williamson's struggles, the Pelicans haven't performed at their best. The team has a 3-18 record and is at the bottom of the Western Conference standings. New Orleans is set to face the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight without their best player. Aside from Williamson, the Pelicans will be short-handed against the Anthony Edwards-led team. Jordan Poole, Herb Jones and Karlo Matkovic are set to miss the game.
