Bradley Beal received a nightmarish welcome on his return to Phoenix for the first time since leaving the city in the offseason. The Suns bought out Beal's contract in July, making him an unrestricted free agent. According to Spotrac, he joined the Clippers in the same month on a two-year deal with a player option in the 2026-27 season.

On Thursday, the Clippers hit the road to face the Suns in their eighth regular-season matchup. They suffered a 115-102 loss against the home team, whose fans vehemently booed Bradley Beal. However, the now Clippers guard took the disastrous welcome lightly and made a strong statement about it in a postgame interview.

"You got fans that didn't like me here. You got fans that did like I was here. You can't please everybody. I learned at a very young age. You drive yourself crazy trying to make everybody happy," Beal said.

I've enjoyed my time here. I've enjoyed playing for this organization. They made a decision. Move on. It is what it is. Don't have any hard feelings. People are going to boo. It's part of the game. It's part of being a fan. I'll see you Saturday."

Beal dismissed the fans' reactions as part of the game and asked them to look forward to the next matchup. The Clippers will take on the Suns again in Phoenix on Saturday.

"More meaningful for me to go back to D.C.": Bradley Beal takes subtle jab at Phoenix Suns fans after getting booed on his return

Bradley Beal fired subtle shots at the Phoenix Suns fanbase while talking to "The Athletic" after the game on Thursday. The Clippers guard called his return to Washington more meaningful than his time in Phoenix, as he started his career with the Wizards.

"To me, it wasn’t about get back,” Beal told The Athletic about his return to Phoenix. “We whooped y’all a couple weeks ago. So it wasn’t like, you know, I don’t think it’s about that," he said.
"No disrespect to Phoenix... but it was more meaningful for me to go back to D.C. and play, after being there for 11 years and that’s my franchise, you know? I feel like I was more geeked about that than coming back here. There’s no disrespect... but they have their way how they feel."

The Suns have faced the Clippers two times this season. Their first meeting was in LA on Oct. 24, where the Cippers secured a 129-102 blowout win over them. Bradley Beal referenced the early season win to dismiss Thursday's loss as just another game.

The Clippers guard had a terrible showing in his return to Phoenix. He scored just five points, collected one rebound and dished out a single assist while clocking in 20 minutes on the court.
