Michael Porter Jr. and the Brooklyn Nets took down the Charlotte Hornets, 116-103, on Monday. In the game, Nets rookie Danny Wolf had an impressive showing, putting up 10 points, and seven rebounds, including a nasty poster over Hornets' Miles Bridges in the fourth quarter. After the game, Porter Jr. lauded Wolf for his performance in the win, commenting on Wolf's dunk with a playful quip before praising the rookie for his all-around play. "White boy," Porter Jr. said. "Danny has been showing up since training camp. I've said it multiple times. Danny has been my favorite rookies that I've played with. From Day 1 in training camp, he surprised me with how he handled the ball, the way he moved, quick on his feet, he can pass, and he can shoot." All of Wolf's points came in the fourth quarter. "Being out there with him. It was really fun. Danny reminds me of that type of player that makes the game so easy," he added. Porter Jr. tallied 35 points, seven rebounds, and four assists in 36 minutes of playing time to lead the Nets. The win improved the Nets' record to 4-16. Wolf was picked 27th overall in the 2025 draft. He appeared in five games so far this season, averaging 5.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. His best game came against the Milwaukee Bucks when he recorded 22 points, four rebounds, and four assists, albeit in a loss. Danny Wolf describes feelings after his first-ever NBA poster dunkDanny Wolf got candid about his first-ever NBA poster dunk after the Nets' win against the Hornets. Wolf said his goal was to catch a body during the game, so when the opportunity came, he took it immediately. “It felt great,” Wolf said. “Against Milwaukee, there was another opportunity for that, and I laid the ball up [instead]. Before today's game, I said I was going to try to catch a body or try to dunk on somebody.""I was kinda saying that as a joke. But kind of looking at that as an opportunity, and just kind of trying to attack the rim. And I did it, and I reaped the rewards.”Wolf has since found his way in the Nets' rotation. They will return to action on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls.
