The latest trade rumors circling the Golden State Warriors suggest that Brandin Podziemski could finally lose his 'untouchable' status. Several reports previously have indicated the team's desire to retain the guard to lead them into the future once Steph Curry hangs it up.
The Warriors passed on a trade for one-time All-Star Lauri Markkanen in the 2024 offseason after their unwillingness to include Podziemski in negotiations. However, their stance could change.
According to 95.7 The Game radio host Dan Devone, Golden State is planning a huge trade that could put the former first-round pick on the trade block.

"I feel confident the Warriors will make a huge trade at the deadline," Devone said on Saturday. "Over the last couple weeks, it's been evident that Podziemski could be on the block."
The Warriors were seemingly high on Podziemski in his rookie season. However, he didn't make a sophomore leap, and his third year isn't looking as promising, either. In 23 appearances, Podziemski has averaged 12.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.2 steals.
He's marginally improved his scoring, but is producing career lows in apg and field goal shooting efficiency (43.6%). With Podziemski entering the final year of his $16.2 million contract next season, the Warriors will need to decide his future at the deadline.
Warriors Trade Rumors: Herb Jones on Golden State's Radar as Brandin Podziemski's future looks murky
The Warriors need more perimeter defense, and Herb Jones could solve those issues. The Pelicans forward is widely considered a prime target for several teams amid the team's 3-21 record. Jones, 27, doesn't fit their timeline around first-round lottery picks Jeremiah Fears and Derik Queen.
He's under contract through the 2029-30 season with a player option in the final year. The Warriors are reportedly targeting him, according to insider Brett Siegel.
Brandin Podziemski could be one of the key trade assets involved in a deal for Herb Jones. Podizemski, 22, would get a fresh start in New Orleans and get a chance to develop on a team with fewer expectations.
The Warriors can also win the sweepstakes due to their 2026 first-round pick. While they likely won't have a favorable selection if they finish higher in the standings, the Pelicans don't have a pick next year in the top 30, so securing one in a Jones trade could benefit them.
