Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga has lost his spot in Steve Kerr's rotation in the 2025-26 NBA season. In the past three games, Kuminga has not been part of it. He's logged in DNPs for three consecutive games, despite not suffering from any injury. This has affected his role and value in the trade market. There have been speculations that the team is trying to trade Kuminga even before the season began. With the recent trend of him not being part of the rotation, however, an NBA insider highlighted a red flag. The Athletic's Sam Amick pointed out the downside of Golden State moving him at this stage in the season, with his current state in the rotation.“He has not played as well, he’s looking at DNPs from Steve Kerr, who has not changed his framing of Kuminga situation at all, in terms of, ‘Here are my expectations, and if he doesn’t reach them, he’s not gonna play’,” Amick said.“The Kings certainly have interest… I don’t know where he lands because leverage wise the Warriors have lost a bit with Kuminga’s struggles.Amick added that the Sacramento Kings could give the Warriors a lowball offer. He thinks that Malik Monk won't be part of a potential trade package. He added that it would be "tricky" to find a deal with Kuminga. The athletic forward has appeared in 17 games, averaging 12.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists. The last time he played was against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Dec. 6, where he scored four points and grabbed seven rebounds.Warriors' Steve Kerr didn't say much about Jonathan Kuminga's DNPAfter Jonathan Kuminga's second DNP game, there were questions directed at coach Steve Kerr. Since he's the head coach, he makes the final decisions on the team's lineup and rotation. Following the Warriors' 127-120 loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Kerr was asked about why Kuminga was benched.“Right now it’s where things are. You saw Gui come in there for 6 minutes and lit up the crowd with his energy. The ball movement, the was maybe the best stretch of the game for our offense just with the flow,” Kerr said.Kerr added that things can change. That means that a shakeup in the Warriors' rotation could happen anytime. However, players are looking for stability, especially when it comes to the team's rotation. Even star guard Steph Curry wants to see a high level of consistency in their lineup. Golden State will face the Phoenix Suns on Thursday at the Mortgage Matchup Center.
