The Golden State Warriors' frontcourt was solidified this season when free agent Al Horford signed with the team and disgruntled forward Jonathan Kuminga finally settled his contract issues. However, both players have been sidelined for a number of games, and the latest updates on their respective injuries are not positive.
On one hand, NBA insider Brett Siegel reported over the weekend that Horford is set to miss more time. Siegel cited Warriors head coach Steve Kerr as the source of the injury update.
"Warriors veteran Al Horford will miss at least one week with a right hamstring strain, Steve Kerr said today," Siegel tweeted.

It's worth noting that other reports point to sciatica as the medical issue keeping Horford sidelined.
On the other hand, there is even less certainty about the return timetable for Kuminga, who has missed the Warriors' last five games due to tendinitis. When asked about Kuminga's status during a weekend media availability, Kerr admitted that he had little information on the 23-year-old forward's progress.
"Steve Kerr did not have a timeline on when Jonathan Kuminga will return from bilateral patellar tendinitis: 'I don’t know where [he’s at], he’s got to tell you where he is. He didn’t do anything. Training staff, working with them, I have no idea what he’s doing,'" Warriors beat reporter Kenzo Fukuda tweeted on Sunday.
For the Warriors, getting key rotation players healthy is a top priority as they look to halt a three-game skid. After pulling off two impressive wins over the Victor Wembanyama-led San Antonio Spurs and blowing out the New Orleans Pelicans, the Warriors absorbed losses to the Orlando Magic, the Miami Heat, and the Portland Trail Blazers.
This week, Golden State has a rematch with the Pelicans, as well as matchups against the Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets.
Former Warriors superstar set to miss Wednesday's game against former team
The Rockets game, however, will not feature former Warriors superstar Kevin Durant. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Durant will miss this game, as well as the Rockets' Monday night matchup against the Phoenix Suns, due to "a family matter."
Durant made headlines in 2016 when he decided to leave the OKC Thunder and join Golden State, where he would win two NBA championships and claim the Finals MVP award twice.
