V.J. Edgecombe was in action when the Philadelphia 76ers crossed swords against the Chicago Bulls at the United Center on Tuesday. The rookie sensation was once again in the starting lineup, with Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Jabari Walker and Kelly Oubre Jr.The Sixers rookie dropped a double-double but lacked efficiency on offense. Despite leading by as many as 24 points at one stage, Philadelphia squandered the lead and fell to a confidence-shattering 113-111 loss.Edgecombe finished with 12 points on 4 of 12 shooting, including 2 of 3 from deep, and 2 of 2 from the free-throw line. He also recorded 11 rebounds, four assists and two steals in 38 minutes. He committed two turnovers and registered a -5 rating.V.J. He knocked down another 3-pointer, but missed three attempts from inside the arc.After the first quarter, V.J. Edgecombe had six points on 2 of 5 shooting, including 2 of 2 from beyond the arc. He also recorded two rebounds and two assists in nine minutes.The Sixers' rookie attempted four shots in the second quarter and managed to make only one. His efficiency remained below par, but Edgecombe impacted the game in a big manner by dominating on the glass.At half time, Edgecombe had eight points, five rebounds and two assists in 17:37 minutes. He shot 3 of 9 from the floor, including 2 of 2 from 3-point range.The No. 3 pick remained scoreless in the penultimate period after he failed to knock down his only attempt from the floor, which came from beyond the arc.The star guard made one shot in the final period and sank a couple of free throws to push his tally to 12 points.
