The LA Lakers improved to 8-3 after their win over the Charlotte Hornets on Monday. However, Hornets’ $75 million forward Miles Bridges wasn’t too happy about how the game unfolded, expressing annoyance over the frequent free-throw opportunities awarded to Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.During a halftime interview, Miles Bridges, who’s currently on a three-year, $75 million deal per Spotrac, didn’t hold back his frustration. The forward took a dig at the Lakers' whistle, claiming it was "hard guarding guys" when they received fouls on every possession."It's kind of hard guarding guys when they get fouls on every possession. So, just gotta do our best to control what we can control and move on," Bridges expressed.The Lakers went to the line eight times in the first half, while the Hornets managed just four free-throw attempts. The disparity grew after halftime, as Los Angeles earned another 12 trips to the line, finishing the game with 20 total free throws.Doncic and Reaves accounted for more than half of the Lakers’ free-throw attempts as their parade to the line continued in Charlotte. Doncic went a perfect 5-for-5 from the stripe, while Reaves made 8 of his 11 attempts, further fueling the Hornets’ frustration.The Lakers have been one of the most frustrating teams to guard in the paint, averaging 28.2 free throws per game this season, among the highest marks in the league. They’ve also made the most of those opportunities, converting at a solid 79.4% from the line.Free throws were once again a huge part of their offense on Monday as the Lakers dispatched the Hornets 121-111 at the Spectrum Center.
