After the Dallas Mavericks fired Nico Harrison, many expected them to shop Anthony Davis to recoup as many assets as possible. Davis is aware of the trade rumors, but he’s not focusing on them ahead of his potential return from injury.Speaking to reporters after Wednesday's practice, Davis was asked about his thoughts on rumors linking him to a trade away from Dallas. He’s not worried about the possibility of playing on another team because he has been in this situation before."Man, look, y'all make it like we’re going to war or something," Davis said, according to Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News. "This is basketball; it comes with it. …That doesn't affect me; I've been in trade talks for a while. My job is to do what I do when I'm on the floor, play basketball and try to lead this team. Whatever comes out of that, comes out of that."According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Dallas Mavericks have moved on from Harrison's vision of winning an NBA championship in three to four years. The Mavericks are expected to shop Davis and gauge what value he could bring to the franchise in a trade."Sources have told ESPN that the Mavericks will be listening to trade calls for Anthony Davis and seeing and exploring his value," Charania said on NBA Countdown last week.Charania added that the main focus now is to build around Cooper Flagg, who has had an up-and-down rookie campaign so far. The Mavericks are also expected to keep Kyrie Irving despite his age and injury since he has a positive effect on the team's culture.Knicks among interested teams in Anthony DavisSome of the teams linked to Anthony Davis include the Detroit Pistons, Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks. Ian Begley of SNY discussed the possibility of the Knicks inquiring about Davis and how the franchise would approach a potential trade."This is stating the obvious, but I'm sure the Knicks would at least check in with Dallas if/when Anthony Davis becomes available," Begley wrote. "You may scoff at the idea, but the Knicks want to win a title this season. If Dallas is offering Davis at a below-market cost, I'm sure the Knicks will at least give the move some thought."The Pistons and Knicks could use a player like Davis to pursue a title in a wide-open Eastern Conference, while the Bulls offer comfort since it’s his hometown.
