Steph Curry is enjoying some freedom after ending his 13-year partnership with Under Armour. Instead of rushing into a new deal with another major brand, the sneaker free agent is trying on as many different shoes as he can.

For the Golden State Warriors’ clash against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, Curry surprised fans by rocking a colorway from Tyrese Haliburton’s signature shoe line. He first arrived at Chase Center in a pair of Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Lows. Then he changed things up during warmups and laced up the PUMA Hali 1 Hibiscus.

Cameras caught the moment and Tyrese Haliburton’s fiancée, Jade Jones, was absolutely thrilled. She shared @nbakicks’ post on her Instagram Story and captioned it:

Steph Curry is known for switching shoes before tipoff. Earlier in the week against the Utah Jazz, he warmed up in the Air Jordan “Last Shot” 14s and later swapped to Sabrina Ionescu’s Nike “Inoescrew” Sabrina 3 once the game began.

This time was different. Curry decided to stay in the Hali 1s for the entire game. That decision says something about how comfortable and impressive Haliburton’s signature shoe must be.

Steph Curry reveals sneaker free agency plan going ahead

Over the past few weeks, Steph Curry has surprised fans by wearing a wide range of sneakers. He has been spotted in Nikes, Air Jordans and even Pumas as he pays respect to players with their own signature lines such as Kobe Bryant, Sabrina Ionescu and Tyrese Haliburton.

Curry views this as a fun moment and an opportunity to show love to other athletes in the sneaker world. He believes players with their own shoe brands should be paying attention for when he comes calling.

“Everybody should be on alert,” Curry said on Monday. “I'm calling everybody. Trying to get some good product, but it's just fun to get honored. Certain arenas, moments in the game, current athletes who are doing great things, and yeah, just having fun with it.”

He has always acknowledged how difficult it is to build a lasting presence in the sneaker industry. That is why it makes sense that he is making the most of this sneaker free agency. Fans might even see him testing out other major brands like Adidas soon.

Steph Curry currently owns all the intellectual property for the Curry Brand. He could choose to grow it as an independent brand. Another possibility is that he is trying out these different brands to see whether one of them might want to partner with or even acquire the Curry Brand in the future.
