He might have ended up having a better career than Reggie Miller, but Steph Curry still has the Indiana Pacers legend as his favorite player of all time. Curry has previously maintained that Miller's influence on him proved to be a big turning point in his career.

The Golden State Warriors star recently appeared on LeBron James and Steve Nash's "Mind The Game" podcast and spoke about the time when Miller became the inspiration for him, causing him to change his game.

According to Steph Curry, when he was in high school, he was a pass-first guy. However, after he went to Davidson, he expanded his game, taking inspiration from Miller.

"There's a video of me as a 10-year-old running around with a Reggie jersey just cuz you know I just love his competitiveness and the way he moved off the ball. But I didn't know, like that would be a huge part of my game once I got to, like, how am I going to actually make it to the league type vibe."

"I tried all the behind-the-back passes this day, one-handed, left-handed, like all that type of stuff, just seeing the floor a little differently. Um, felt like he was kind of the model for that."

Steph Curry reveals one player who made him realize his impact on younger generation

When legendary commentator Mark Jackson famously said that Steph Curry had ruined the game for the kids, his intentions were perhaps not to criticize the Warriors star, but to send an early message that he was slowly becoming an inspiration for the kids across the world.

During the interview, LeBron James asked the Warriors star about the exact time he realized his influence on young players. Curry said that in 2017, when Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young was scouted to be the next Steph Curry, it was the first time he realized his influence.

"When Trey Young came in the league and that was like the first person who they said was like the next me, even though he's a different player, and I've known him when he was in high school. That was like the first time you're like 'I'm getting a little older' with these kids that are watching you, who are now emulating their game after the way that you play, or like there's now expectations on set person to be you or play like you." "That might be the first time I thought about it. um or really experienced, like what the impact was."

Just like Curry, Young also modeled his game after Steve Nash. However, it is always reductive to pack the Warriors' superstar's game into just long 3-point shooting. Curry is an excellent scorer, apart from being the greatest 3-point shooter in league history.
