With four players listed on their injury report, the San Antonio Spurs could be stretched thin during Monday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans. On a brighter note, Victor Wembanyama has reached a massive milestone in his injury recovery and was a full participant during Sunday’s team practice.
Wembanyama last played in a 109-108 loss against the Golden State Warriors on Nov. 15. After the game, he was sidelined with a calf injury and has missed 10 games since. He looked like one of the best players in the league before getting injured, averaging 26.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 3.6 blocks per game.
While he will miss Monday’s game against the Pelicans, Wembanyama is expected to be back on Dec. 10 against the LA Lakers. His return should give the Spurs quite a lift. Jordan McLaughlin will also miss Monday’s game as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.
Meanwhile, Stephon Castle is listed as questionable against the Pelicans with a hip injury. He has missed the team’s last nine games, last playing against the Sacramento Kings on Nov. 17. Lastly, Luke Kornet, who is dealing with an ankle injury, is also questionable to play in Monday’s matchup.

He has been providing valuable minutes for the team amid Wembanyama’s absence. Jeremy Sochan is likely to play at the five if Kornet sits out.
The Spurs aren’t the only ones with an extensive injury list; the Pelicans also have significant absences to deal with for Monday’s game. The team will be without Zion Williamson, Jordan Poole, Dejounte Murray and Hunter Dickinson. Herbert Jones is also listed as questionable.
