Giannis Antetokounmpo made a bold proclamation after scoring 29 points in the Bucks' 116-99 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday. After securing the win, Antetokounmpo became the sixth youngest player to have crossed the 21,000 career point mark.
The Greek Freak participated in a postgame interview where he was asked about his accomplishment and his plans for the future. In his response, Antetokounmpo said that he was aiming to become the league's All-time scoring leader, a record currently held by LeBron James.
"I think when I’m going to be 35 years old and sitting in this chair, I want to have a discussion of I am in the top list of all-time in scoring," Antetokounmpo said. "I would have talked that into existence and not just talk that into existence because I believe that I'm going to do it, it's something that I want to do."
Some fans online found it hard to believe in Antetokounmpo's words, as they trolled him on social media.

"This very obviously sound like a guy trying to get traded. I hate @espn and everyone there for pushing the narrative that this guy wants to leave," one fan said.
"Bro thinks hes scoring 21k+ in 5 years ?" another fan said.
"Then he might want to start averaging 50 a game otherwise It ain’t happening," another fan said.
"LBJ has Giannis doubled up and stil playing haha. Giannis is funny af," another fan said.
One fan said that Luka Doncic was more likely to achieve the goal Giannis Antetokounmpo had set for himself.
"LOL lofty goals but not possible, especially if he gets traded. With a capable scorer/scorers, his own offensive load will diminish. Luka is the one playing now likely to crack the top 5," the fan said.
"Dude needs to average like 40 a game to even sniff that," another fan said.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is currently in his 13th season and has garnered 21,002 points. LeBron James, on the other hand, is in his 23rd season and has garnered 42,250 career points, a target that is increasing every week as James is still active in the league.
