LA Lakers star LeBron James has earned plenty of critics during his 23-year career in the NBA, but Skip Bayless is probably one of his fiercest. The sportscaster has been critical of the forward throughout his career and took it to new heights on Halloween. On Underground’s show “The Arena," Bayless showed up wearing a LeBron James jersey while carrying a brick in his hand, dubbing himself “LeBrick James.” He then explained the moniker, taking a jab at LeBron in the process."There’s no scarier sight, than LeBrick James trying to make a late game clutch shot," Bayless expressed. This is nothing new, as Bayless has consistently positioned himself as one of James's biggest critics. The veteran columnist has frequently challenging James' GOAT status while professing his admiration for Michael Jordan. His “LeBrick” moniker reflected his view of James’ shortcomings in clutch moments. Bayless has often criticized the Lakers star for failing to close out big games, once famously claiming that LeBron was not “born with the clutch gene.”Despite his constant jabs, Bayless has previously admitted that he doesn't "hate" the Lakers icon. In 2023, the veteran analyst claimed he only speaks the “truth” and has never “hated” LeBron."I hate to spoil this party, but I do not hate LeBron James. From the bottom of my heart, I don't hate him. In fact, I hate the misconception that I hate LeBron James. I just tell the truth. ... That often times nobody would tell," Bayless calimed.Skip Bayless criticizes LeBron James for his fake-out with decision 2.0LeBron James faked out fans with his "second decision" in October. The Lakers star had many believing he would be announcing his retirement, but it turned out to be an ad for Hennessey. At the time, Skip Bayless accused James of recreating his iconic moment to "make money.""It was an iconic sports moment because we'd never seen anything like that,” Bayless expressed. “It was a GOAT-ish sort of endeavor… and to take that decision, ‘The Decision,' and stoop to cheapen it, to sell it out? To make money, to launch some new Hennessey brand of Cognac? Really, you would stoop to that LeBron."In the “Decision 2.0” video, James wore the same shirt from his original announcement, momentarily fooling fans.
