In his postgame interview, Booker reflected on the heartbreaking loss after the Suns fell short despite rallying from a 20-point deficit.

"Yeah, it was tough. We couldn't put the ball in the hoop," Booker said. "I feel like we were stuck on 77 for a very long time. Ended up getting down 19 points in the fourth and then we had to start taking care of the other things, the rebounding, being an aggressor."

Continuing his postgame comments, Booker was blunt in his assessment of referee Jenna Schroeder, whose personal foul call on him sent LeBron James to the line and effectively decided the game with three seconds left.

After an even first half that saw both teams tied at 62, the Suns slipped in the third quarter as the Lakers built a 20-point lead. Phoenix responded with a strong fourth-quarter push and briefly went ahead 114–113 with 12.2 seconds remaining.

In the final seconds, Booker was whistled for a foul on LeBron James beyond the arc, awarding him three free throws. James missed one but converted the other two to secure the win for the Lakers.

LeBron James reflects on chaotic finish against the Suns as Devin Booker’s 27 points prove insufficient in loss

The Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers played a tight contest at the Mortgage Matchup Center on Sunday. Devin Booker led Phoenix with 27 points, but the Suns came up short.

After falling behind by 20, Phoenix mounted a late comeback and briefly took the lead through Dillon Brooks. The momentum swung again when Brooks was ejected for illegal contact on LeBron James, who then hit two late free throws to secure the Lakers’ win.

Bron reflected on this wild ending during a post-game interview.

"I think the last two days of practice put us in a position and a mindset to be very physical," James said. "Obviously, the fourth quarter allowed them to get back into the game because we put them on the line ... We got behind the ball a lot in the fourth quarter, but for the majority of the game, I thought our physicality was good."
