The Spurs stuck to their starting lineup of De'Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, Harrison Barnes and Luke Kornet. Victor Wembanyama was active but didn't play even a single minute in the opening quarter. Meanwhile, the Thunder started the game with a lineup featuring Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, Lu Dort, Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein.

The Thunder flexed their muscle early and raced to a 22-10 lead. Gilgeous-Alexander wasted no time in making an impact, scoring 10 points and helping OKC to a 31-20 lead after the opening frame.

The second quarter underscored Victor Wembanyama’s immense impact. With him on the floor to open the period, the Spurs surged on a 9-2 run. Once he sat, momentum swung sharply as OKC answered with a 14-2 burst. Wembanyama’s return flipped the script again, sparking a 13-0 run that pulled San Antonio within 49-46 at halftime.

The Spurs capitalized on the momentum and continued to apply pressure to the Thunder. San Antonio won the third quarter 32-28, taking a narrow 78-77 lead into the fourth quarter.
