Jaylen Brown has been going viral this season for using hairspray to make his balding head appear denser, which rubs on opponents' jerseys. Brown seemingly received an ultimatum from Minnesota Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert to shave his head as he did. After the Timberwolves beat the Boston Celtics 119-115 on Saturday, Gobert and Brown shook hands to show their respect after a tough matchup. The four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year then pointed to his bald head while talking to the former NBA Finals MVP.Brown laughed at Gobert seemingly suggesting to him to go bald as he did rather than rely on hair sprays to make it look he still had a full head of hair. The Celtics star started rubbing his head after the encounter, though it's unclear if he'll take the advice to heart. To make it even more hilarious, Jaylen Brown's Boston Celtics teammate, Derrick White, was on the short clip as well. White finally decided to shave his head in the summer of 2023. He was famously made fun of by the Inside the NBA crew, mainly Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal, and was told to "go home" just like both of them. Barkley and O'Neal are two of the most famous bald people in basketball, with White entering the 2023-24 NBA season with a new look. It worked since no one teased him for balding anymore, and they took home the championship that same season. Meanwhile, Rudy Gobert introduced his new look this past summer, along with a full beard, during a workout in a social media post. Gobert is known for having a different look every year, though this current one could be permanent. Jaylen Brown blames Boston for losing his hairAfter a couple of "hair" incidents against the Detroit Pistons and New York Knicks, the media began asking Jaylen Brown about it. Brown jokingly said in his live stream in late October that it was Boston's fault that he was losing his hair. "I just turned 29, I don't know how we got here," Brown said, according to CBS Boston. "It all is happening fast to me. … I blame Boston. 10 years of stress, the media, the championship. Ya'll caused this."Playing in Boston is not an easy feat, especially with how passionate the city and the Celtics fanbase are. Luckily for Brown, he helped the Celtics win a championship in 2024, so the stress was considerably decreased.
