Luka Doncic has been dominating the league and turning heads off it lately. The news that he bought a $5 million Bugatti W16 Mistral Roadster spread fast, with Lakers GM Rob Pelinka connecting that flashy purchase to the fact that Doncic seems to have found his comfort in Los Angeles.

Ahead of Tuesday’s Lakers-Clippers game, Pelinka sat down for an interview with Spectrum SportsNet’s panel. While discussing how Doncic became the quickest player in league history to surpass 400+ points and 100+ assists in a season, he linked that milestone to Doncic being at ease with the Lakers.

“He’s in a comfort zone and you feel like you can see the Luka joy just the way he plays,” Pelinka said. “It’s contagious, not just to the 14 other players but to the fans, to our building. You know, when he pulled up to practice in his Bugatti the other day, I said ‘You are now all LA’.”

Luka Doncic has always been a huge fan of supercars, and everyone already knows his collection is wild. However, this Bugatti is understandably receiving a lot more attention.

It is the fastest roadster ever created, reaching an incredible 282 mph during testing in Germany. Additionally, the 1,578-horsepower car goes from 0-60 mph in just 2.5 seconds.

Luka Doncic’s historic night leads Lakers to top of NBA Cup group

The LA Lakers had already taken down the Memphis Grizzlies and the New Orleans Pelicans. All they needed was a win over the LA Clippers to finish at the top of the Western Conference NBA Cup Group B.

That is exactly what they did. On Tuesday, the Lakers came out on top in the Battle of LA.

Despite struggles in the first half, JJ Redick’s team eventually found its rhythm and pulled away for a dominant 135-118 victory. LeBron James and Austin Reaves stepped up with notable contributions, combining for 56 points and 15 rebounds. However, Luka Doncic was the undeniable star of the night.

Doncic exploded for 24 points in the first quarter, tying a franchise high for scoring in a single quarter. He eventually finished with 43 points, 9 rebounds and 13 assists while shooting 50% from the field and 58.3% from three-point land.

The Lakers will wrap up the NBA Cup group stage on Friday, hosting the Dallas Mavericks.
