Despite his solid performance, Anthony said there is still a lot of work needed to clean up mistakes on the court, including his free throws, after missing three attempts in the charity stripe during the blowout win.

“Little things, shots I could have made that I missed. Free-throws, I missed three free-throws, that’s unacceptable," Anthony said on the things he want to improve. "So I just got to get in the gym after, shoot some free-throws, and fix the little things.”

Anthony opened the season off the bench against Binghampton but still managed to play a game-high 29 minutes, where he had 15 points, three rebounds, and three assists.

Kiyan is one of Syracuse's biggest recruits since his father Carmelo Anthony led the school to the national championship in 2003, preluding his NBA career.

Carmelo's son Kiyan Anthony reveals his mindset in playing his first game as a starter

Carmelo Anthony's son, Kiyan, said he always looks to provide for the team, regardless of how he starts the game. In his post-game interview against Delaware State, he revealed that his mindset was just the same when he came off the bench in his first game.

“Same mindset from last game when I came in the second half and did what I did," he said. "Coach decided to put me out there with the first group, and I went out there and I provided and I did what I can, and I feel like we had a good game.”

Now at 2-0, Syracuse seemed poised for a promising start as they aim for their return to the NCAA tournament this year.
