The Lakers jumped to a 15-11 lead when James went to the bench for his first rest and Jake LaRavia entered the game. The Lakers defended perfectly in the opening minutes and held the Suns to a mere 30% shooting. Doncic caught fire in the latter half of the frame and raced to 20 points on 11 shots.

The Suns' offense came primarily through Booker and Brooks as they combined for 19 first-quarter points. The score was tied at 31-31 at the end of the opening frame.

The Lakers were extremely sloppy in the second quarter, and the Suns made them pay. Without Devin Booker, who was ruled out of the game with a right groin injury, Phoenix made a 19-4 run to close the period and took a 66-52 lead into the halftime break. Brooks had 23 points after two quarters.

The Suns outscored the Lakers 30-25 and tightened their grip on the game. Brooks dropped 10 more points and moved to 33 points, five points shy of his career-high. Turnovers turned into a serious problem for the Lakers, who had 18 by the end of the third.

Fourth quarter was a mere formality, and the Suns finished the job without breaking a sweat. Phoenix recorded a 125-108 win and ended the Lakers' seven-game win streak.
