Philadelphia 76ers vs New York Knicks Game Player Stats and Box Score for Oct. 4 | 2025-26 NBA Preseason

The Philadelphia 76ers vs New York Knicks was the second preseason game between two Eastern Conference teams before the 2025-26 season. Without their star player, Joel Embiid, in their first preseason game, the Sixers faced a blowout 15-point loss.

The Knicks' starting lineup with Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby and Jalen Brunson once again led their team's offense and gave the Knicks a 9-point lead with over five minutes remaining in the first quarter.

However, within two minutes, and after VJ Edgecombe's 3-pointer, Philadelphia cut the lead to 2 points. The Knicks again extended the lead to 8 points by the end of the quarter.

The second quarter saw the Knicks only extending their lead further. The Sixers were once again outscored by 28-24 in the 2nd quarter. Before halftime, the Sixers shot just over 32% from the field and 25.0% from the 3-point line.

However, on the other hand, New York shot 51.7% from the field and 36.4% from the 3-point line. Tyrese Maxey (8) and OG Anunoby (11) led their teams in scoring before halftime.

The 76ers tried to make a comeback after halftime. Both Philadelphia and New York took their starters out of the game. Jordan Clarkson made the first shot, extending the Knicks' lead to 16 points. The Sixers found their scoring run; however, the Knicks also continued to answer.

However, the 76ers' bench was able to outscore the Knicks' bench. After outscoring the Knicks by 6 points, the Sixers cut the lead to just seven points. Kevin McCullar Jr., Garrison Mathews and Jordan Clarkson led the Knicks bench.

The Knicks took control of the game in the 4th quarter. However, the last 12 minutes of regulation belonged to Macolm Hill. The 76ers player scored 11 points alone in the 4th quarter, trying to bring his team back into the game.

The Knicks won the game by 113-104. Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 14 points. On the other hand, Tyrese Maxey led the Sixers with 16 points.

The Knicks will next play the Minnesota Timberwolves in their next preseason game on Oct. 9, while the 76ers will face the Orlando Magic on Oct. 10 in Philadelphia.
