Philadelphia 76ers vs New York Knicks Game Player Stats and Box Score for Oct. 2 | 2025-26 NBA Preseason

The NBA 2025-26 preseason opened with the Philadelphia 76ers vs New York Knicks on Thursday in Abu Dhabi. Two of the Eastern Conference competitors went even in the first quarter. They ended the game with the score tied at 25.

76ers star Tyrese Maxey led the game in scoring with 10 points. Knicks Miles McBride led the Knicks with 8 points.

However, the Knicks took over in the second quarter. Both teams exchanged buckets in the first seven minutes. However, the Knicks took over after Mikal Bridges' 3-pointer to extend the Knicks' lead to five points. With less than a minute remaining before halftime, Bridges made a 2-pointer to extend the lead to 10 points.

After a slow first quarter, both Karl-Anthony Towns and Bridges stepped up in the second. Towns ended up with 11 and Bridges with 10 points.

The third quarter saw the Knicks extend the lead to 24 points. After a dominating second quarter, New York continued the attack behind the reserve players. Garrison Mathews, Jordan Clarkson and McBride highlighted the third quarter for the Knicks.

Clarkson and Mathews each ended the quarter with 18 points between them. McBride scored four more points in the quarter. The Sixers' side saw Kennedy Chandler and Hunter Sallis as top scorers in the third quarter, combining for 12 points.

The Knicks fielded all of their 19 players on the roster by the fourth quarter. Although only three players scored in double digits for the Knicks, they defeated the 76ers by 15 points. In the last quarter, the Sixers outscored New York by 9 points.

VJ Edgecombe and Tyrese Maxey led the Joel Embiid-less Sixers with a combined 28 points. Kennedy Chandler also added 10 points.
