The Philadelphia 76ers have released crucial injury updates ahead of Wednesday's clash against the Toronto Raptors. The star duo of Joel Embiid and Paul George headlines the report. Embiid is doubtful to make his return from a four-game absence.

The former MVP last played on Nov. 8 when the Sixers faced the Raptors at home. Since then, Embiid has been out, citing right knee injury management. While he could be close to returning, a doubtful status indicates that Embiid will likely sit out Wednesday's game unless the 76ers upgrade him to questionable or probable closer to tip off.

Meanwhile, George returned on Monday against the LA Clippers, playing his first game of the season. He was recovering from left knee surgery, delaying his season debut. However, George won't suit up on Wednesday. He's ruled out, citing left knee injury management.

The Sixers are probably sidelining him as they are playing on the front end of a back-to-back. They will play the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday, so George could be scheduled to play that game. He was a full participant in Tuesday's practice with Joel Embiid.

The Philadelphia 76ers have three others on the injury report, including Adem Bona, Jared McCain and Kelly Oubre Jr. Bona is out for at least two more games due to a right ankle sprain. Oubre is out with a left knee sprain. There are no updates on his recovery and return timeline.

Meanwhile, McCain is listed as available. He is listed on the injury report citing right thumb surgery recovery. McCain sustained the injury in September. He made his season debut on Nov. 4 and has played four games since then.
