The Philadelphia 76ers will welcome the LA Lakers on Sunday as the two teams face off for the first time this season at the Xfinity Mobile Arena. However, Philly faces major decisions regarding the availability of Paul George and Joel Embiid heading into the matchup.

Both players are listed as questionable for Sunday's game due to their respective knee injuries, and their availability will be decided by Nick Nurse ahead of tip-off.

Embiid sat out the 76ers’ 116–101 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday, as he was given rest on the second night of a back-to-back following their game against the Warriors. He played 25 minutes in that outing, finishing with 12 points.

On the other hand, Paul George started against the Bucks, posting 20 points, five assists and five rebounds in 30 minutes. It was his seventh appearance of the season, and he has played back-to-back games only once so far.

With the 76ers easing both players back into the rotation, it appears unlikely that Embiid and George will suit up together against the Lakers.

The pair have started just one game alongside each other this season, a double-overtime matchup against the Hawks in late November. In that contest, Embiid logged 30 minutes while George played 28, as Atlanta pulled out a 142–134 win.

With the 76ers on a three-game win streak and steadily building momentum, they’re expected to continue limiting the duo's minutes. While they could still feature against the Lakers, it remains unlikely they’ll start together.

Beyond Embiid and George, the 76ers will also remain without Kelly Oubre Jr. and Trendon Watford. Oubre has been sidelined with a knee sprain since mid-November, while Watford is out with an adductor injury and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
