Patrick Mahomes’ Wife Sends Clear Message as Kevin Durant Makes Brutally Honest Admission on Chiefs Star’s Legacy Amid Dwindling Playoff Chances 

Patrick Mahomes' wife, Brittany Mahomes, expressed her support for Kevin Durant's praise for the Chiefs star. The Rockets star shut down the doubters who questioned Mahomes and the Chiefs' chances for another championship run.

Durant expressed his support for the Mahomes on the "Up & Adams" podcast on Saturday. The show's host, Kay Adams, asked the Rockets star if he would look at Mahomes' legacy any differently if Kansas failed to make the playoffs this season.

"Kay, what kind of question is that? That makes no sense at all,” Durant said. “If anybody’s questioning Pat Mahomes’ legacy from one off year… He could miss the playoffs for the rest of his career, I don’t give a damn. This man is Patrick Mahomes."

Later, Adams asked Kevin Durant to reveal what he thought of the Chiefs' star if he could never win anything again.

"Oh stop it. He is still an All-Time great. Potentially the greatest of all time," Durant continued.

Patrick Mahomes' wife supported Durant's high praise for her husband in an Instagram comment.

"Let 👏🏻 them 👏🏻 know👏🏻" she wrote.

The Chiefs (6-6) have not had a great season so far. They hold third place in the AFC West standings. Kevin Durant, on the other hand, has been tearing it up with the Rockets since arriving in H-Town. The Rockets (15-6) hold fourth place in the Western Conference standings.

Patrick Mahomes has the same level of respect for Kevin Durant as the Rockets star has for him. Both stars recognize each other legacy and are fans of the other's work. While KD expressed his respect and admiration for the Chiefs star on Kay Adams' show, Mahomes did it for a Chiefs social media post in early October.

On Oct. 9, the Chiefs shared a video on their X account featuring the three-time Super Bowl champion. In the video, Mahomes was asked to choose the better NBA player between two options in a gauntlet-style format.

The Chiefs star kept his trust in Shaquille O'Neal when matched against Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Dirk Nowitzki. However, once the Lakers legend was matched up against Kevin Durant, Mahomes switched up.

"I’m taking KD, longevity gives it to him," Mahomes said.

Later, Mahomes picked Steph Curry over Durant. At the end of the video, he was asked to choose between LeBron James and Michael Jordan, and the Chiefs star preferred not to comment.
