After wrapping up a three-game homestand, the OKC Thunder will hit the road for a two-game trip that starts in Portland. Sunday’s clash against the Trail Blazers at the Moda Center marks the third matchup between the Northwest Division rivals, with the regular season series currently even at one game each.
Oklahoma City enters the game with the best record in the league, having lost only once in its first 20 games. That lone defeat came against Portland on November 5. Since then, the defending champions have been on an impressive 11-game winning streak.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has expectedly been the driving force behind their strong start, averaging 32.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.7 assists. He has kept the Thunder rolling even while key players like Jalen Williams, Aaron Wiggins and Nikola Topic have spent significant time on the sidelines.
Portland, on the other hand, is boasting an 8-11 record. However, they are the only team to have upset the Thunder so far. Backed by Deni Avdija’s 26 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists near triple-double performance, the Blazers secured a 121-119 victory.

However, the Blazers have failed to sustain their level ever since. After the win over the Thunder, they clinched only three wins in 11 outings.
