After the game, Powell took a subtle jab at the Clippers, saying that he does not worry about his former team anymore, as they deal with a poor 5-16 start this season.

“I would have never guessed they were gonna be 5-16 and where they’re at right now," Powell said. "That’s something for them to have to deal with and handle. I’m not worried about them anymore.”

Powell played the last four seasons with the Clippers before moving to the Heat last offseason. Powell has been leading the Heat this season, averaging a career-high 24.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.

Unlike the Clippers, the Heat is currently tied for the third spot in the Eastern Conference with a 14-7 record.

Powell was part of a three-team deal that also sent John Collins to the Clippers.

LA has struggled throughout the season, losing its last five games.

Leonard led the Clippers against the Heat with 36 points and seven rebounds, albeit for naught. Leonard has only appeared in 10 games this season, averaging 25.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game.

Last year, the Clippers finished the regular season as the fifth seed in the Western Conference.

This season, they added veterans such as Chris Paul, Bradley Beal, and Brook Lopez. However, it has yet to convert to wins to start the year.
