The Golden State Warriors were without Steph Curry for their game against the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday because of the flu. Curry played through the sickness a day before in their win over the Phoenix Suns, but was not in shape to suit up against Sacramento.

According to ESPN's Anthony Slater, Curry's symptoms worsened overnight, and he was unable to join the Warriors for their road game in Sacramento. He is resting ahead of Golden State's next game, an NBA Cup group stage contest against Denver on Friday.

"Steph Curry told Steve Kerr his symptoms worsened overnight. He rested today, didn’t make trip to Sacramento. Warriors are 'hopeful within the next couple days he will be alright.' They play at Denver on Friday," Slater tweeted.

It's unclear if Curry will be cleared to play against the Nuggets, but there's a chance that the extra day of rest is enough for the 37-year-old sharpshooter.

Curry played through the sickness on Tuesday and looked alright for the first three quarters. He appeared to run out of energy in the final period, but his teammates picked up the slack. Curry finished with 28 points, four rebounds and three assists, while Moses Moody had his best game of the season.

With Jimmy Butler ruled out for the rest of the second half due to a back injury, Moody contributed 24 points, five rebounds and two assists. He also did a tremendous job on Devin Booker late in the game.

Kerr had nothing but praise for the guard, who was supposed to be part of the starting lineup this season but was slowed down by a calf strain in the preseason.

Despite dealing with the flu, Steph Curry faced reporters after their win over the Phoenix Suns. He said he hoped a day or two of rest would get him back to full strength.

"Obviously, it would take a lot for me not to play," Curry said. "But the way it’s going, how the schedule’s been and just how I feel. Obviously, tomorrow, we’ll see how it goes, but I want to be a hundred percent for the long term."

The Warriors entered Wednesday's game against the Sacramento Kings with a record of 5-3.
