New Orleans Pelicans vs. Golden State Warriors Game Summary

The New Orleans Pelicans visited the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center on Saturday as part of an eight-game NBA schedule. The Pelicans entered the contest with the worst record in the West at 3-16, while the Warriors are just 1-4 in their last five games.

Pelicans' interim coach James Borrego used a starting five featuring Jeremiah Fears, Bryce McGowen, Saddiq Bey, Zion Williamson and Derik Queen. They are still missing a couple of injured guards in Dejounte Murray and former Warriors star Jordan Poole.

Meanwhile, the Warriors are without Steph Curry and Al Horford in the lineup due to injuries. They did clear Jonathan Kuminga for his return after missing the last seven games.

The game was pretty neck and neck until around the four-minute mark of the fourth quarter. The score was tied at 87 with 4:02 left in the game, with Saddiq Bey breaking the deadlock after splitting his free throws. Brandin Podziesmki took the lead for the Warriors after a stepback 3-point shot.

Gary Payton II made back-to-back baskets to extend the Warriors' lead, followed by a Jimmy Butler bucket to seal the game with 1:22 remaining. It became a free-throw contest after that, with the home team knocking down their bonus shots to earn their 11th win of the campaign.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans dropped to 3-17 for the season and are at the bottom of the West standings.
