Williamson will miss his third consecutive game with a left hamstring strain. The superstar forward is likely to make his comeback late next week. Surprisingly, the Pelicans have won both games without Williamson after losing six straight with him in the lineup to start the season.

The New Orleans-based franchise announced a concerning update on Jordan Poole on Friday. The dazzling guard was diagnosed with a mild left vastus lateralis (quad) strain and ruled out for at least a week. The former Golden State Warriors star also missed the team's previous game against the Mavericks.

Dejounte Murray (right Achilles rupture) and Yves Missi (illness) also remain sidelined, leaving the Pelicans' squad extremely shorthanded. Murray is yet to make his season debut, while Missi misses his third straight game. Meanwhile, Trey Alexander (G League two-way) and Hunter Dickinson (G League two-way) are also ruled out.

The Pelicans have a slight advantage heading into Saturday's game in terms of rest. New Orleans plays after a full day's rest, while the Spurs are on the backend of a back-to-back. The Spurs recorded a hard-fought 121-110 win over the Houston Rockets in an NBA Cup game on Friday.
