In an interview before the NBA Cup semifinal games in Las Vegas, Haynes also outlined Antetokounmpo's conditions for his next team.

"Ultimately, for Giannis, I think wherever he lands, I think preferably would like some sun, he like to be probably in a big market," Haynes said. "Outside of that, he just wants to be on a team where he could compete and contend for championships."

Many fans have speculated that the reported three conditions fit the Heat. South Beach is known to be generally sunny, and Florida's official nickname is the "Sunshine State."

While Miami is not considered among the major NBA markets, it is bigger than Antetokounmpo's current team. According to 107.5 The Fan's Nick Cottongim, Miami is 17th in actual market size, whereas Milwaukee is the fourth-smallest.

The Heat are just 14-11 this season, but adding Giannis Antetokounmpo could boost the team's chances in the wide-open Eastern Conference. NBA insider Jake Fischer proposed a blockbuster trade involving Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez and future draft picks.

If the Heat pull off this trade, the team will still have an above-average supporting cast behind Antetokounmpo: Bam Adebayo, Norman Powell and Davion Mitchell.

In addition, Pat Riley and Miami's front office have a history of being able to build championship contenders and maintain a winning culture.

NBA insider predicts when Giannis Antetokounmpo might be traded

In the same interview before the NBA Cup semifinal games Saturday in Las Vegas, NBA insider Chris Haynes was asked when the possible Giannis Antetokounmpo blockbuster trade might happen. Haynes said the nine-time All-Star's trade request will depend on how the Milwaukee Bucks perform in his absence.

"So being the fact that he's out for up to a month, I wanna see how the Bucks are gonna handle that period without him," Haynes said. "Ultimately, if they falter throughout this period, I can see a situation when Giannis comes back where it might be best for both sides to move on and part ways."

Giannis Antetokounmpo is recovering from the right calf injury he suffered on Dec. 3 and could be out for up to four weeks. Many reports also indicate that Milwaukee's performance without Antetokounmpo in the lineup will dictate his future with the team.

The Bucks are 11-15 and are coming off a 116-101 win over the Boston Celtics on Thursday. Milwaukee next faces the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday.
