Anthony Davis has been a consistent name in trade rumors ever since the Mavericks fired Nico Harrison last month. The 10-time All-Star was a fundamental piece in the former Mavs general manager's vision. Dallas traded a generational talent in Luka Doncic to the Lakers so that they could bring in Davis.
However, AD's career has been on a rocky path since he arrived in Dallas. The former Laker has spent more time on the bench dealing with injuries than he has on the court.
On Thursday, ESPN published an article featuring trade scenarios involving the Mavs superstar. One of the ideas featured Davis going to the Warriors. It was a four-team trade between the Mavs, the Lakers, the Warriors and the Hornets.
The Dubs got their hands on Anthony Davis and Mason Plumlee, while the Mavs would receive Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga and a 2026 first-round pick via the Warriors. The Lakers and the Hornets joined the trade to balance assets and facilitate the transaction.

The Purple and Gold would receive Buddy Hield, while the Hornets would get Maxi Kleber and Dalton Knecht. In this scenario, all the teams involved would get the upgrades they have been seeking.
The Dubs would get Anthony Davis, who poses a major threat at the rim, allowing Steph Curry to get more open looks. The Lakers would get an elite perimeter shooter in Hield, who is in the second year of his four-year, $37.8 million contract.
Hield is shooting a career-low 30.5% from the 3-point line this season. However, he has proven himself as an elite threat from the perimeter, and it would likely be a matter of time before he rediscovers his shooting rhythm.
Luka Doncic, LeBron James and Austin Reaves attract significant attention from opposing defenders, creating many open looks for other players on the team. The Purple and Gold need shooters like Hield to capitalize on those opportunities.
The Mavs would receive a proven defender in Draymond Green and a young talent hungry to prove himself in Jonathan Kuminga. Green would bring championship experience and a veteran presence to the rebuilding squad, while Kuminga could serve as the second-best option after Cooper Flagg.
The Hornets would get Dalton Knecht, who they attempted to acquire during a rescinded trade for Mark Williams last season.
NBA insider reveals the Mavs have not ruled out extending Anthony Davis
Anthony Davis' journey in Dallas might not have gone as he imagined, but the 10-time All-Star remains one of the best frontcourt players in the league. There is no denying that AD transforms the Mavs when he is healthy and playing at his best.
While his name constantly surfaces in trade rumors, the Mavs could still extend Davis at the end of the season. Shams Charania reported Tuesday that the Mavericks have not shut down the possibility of keeping AD on the roster.
"Davis' agent, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, has met with Mavericks interim co-general managers Michael Finley and Matt Riccardi and requested clarity about whether the franchise wants to extend Davis in the offseason or trade him ahead of the deadline," he wrote.
"Finley and Riccardi stated the franchise wants to keep its options open and view how the team plays for the next few weeks. They have not ruled out the possibility of an extension."
Anthony Davis has played 10 games this season and is averaging 19.6 points, 10.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game on 52.3% shooting.
