When Michael Jordan was announced as a guest analyst for NBC this season, fans were thrilled with the prospect of regularly listening to his basketball wisdom. It turns out, however, that the NBA community won't be getting as much of Jordan as they had expected.

On Monday, Front Office Sports tweeted an estimated number of additional interview that the six-time NBA champion could grant with NBC. Apparently, there aren't plenty of Jordan sit-downs in the network's pipeline.

"EXCLUSIVE: Michael Jordan could agree to two or three more interviews with NBC Sports as part of his 'MJ: Insights to Excellence' series, sources tell FOS," Front Office Sports tweeted. "Sources say Jordan could sit down with Mike Tirico again before the 2026 NBA All-Star Game and NBA Playoffs."

Thus far, fans have gotten just two installments of the "Insights to Excellence" segment featuring Jordan.

In the latest edition, the Chicago Bulls legend talked about load management, saying that "it shouldn't be needed" and stating adamantly that he would never have done such a thing. This controversial comment has now taken an ironic twist, as Jordan himself is now being accused of "load managing" his NBC stint.

Both installments of "Insights to Excellence" have been pre-taped interviews, instead of a live broadcast with Jordan relaying his thoughts on ongoing and recently concluded games. By all indications, the additional interviews that Jordan could agree to do, will follow this format as well.

"I wish I could take a magic pill": Michael Jordan talks about how much he misses playing basketball

For what it's worth, Jordan got very candid on his feelings towards the game of basketball in the first edition of "Insights to Excellence."

Speaking to Mike Tirico, Jordan spoke about his yearning to once again play the sport.

"I wish I could take a magic pill, put on the shorts and go out and play the game of basketball today because that's who I am," Jordan told Tirico. "I miss it."

Jordan last played in an NBA game back in the 2002-03 season. After a storied career in Chicago, MJ had his NBA swansong with the Washington Wizards.
