The Minnesota Timberwolves will wrap up their current three-game road trip with a matchup at the Paycom Center against the OKC Thunder. Wednesday’s NBA Emirates Cup game will be the first of four regular-season meetings between these two Northwest Division rivals.
Minnesota heads into the contest looking to bounce back after dropping its last two road games. Despite Anthony Edwards averaging 42.0 points per game in those matchups, the Wolves suffered a 114-113 loss against the Phoenix Suns on Friday and a 117-112 loss against the Sacramento Kings on Monday.
Meanwhile, the defending champions have gotten off to a flying start to the season. They boast the league’s best record with 17-1, with their only loss (121-119) coming against the Portland Trail Blazers on November 5.
They are currently on a nine-game winning streak and are the heavy favorites to emerge victorious despite missing notable pieces such as Jalen Williams, Aaron Wiggins, and Nikola Topic.

Expectedly, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leads the pack with an MVP-level performance. He is averaging 32.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game, leading OKC to dominate the league.
