The New York Knicks fended off the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday for a hard-earned 118-109 win. The victory pushed the Knicks to the knockout round of the Emirates NBA Cup and ended Milwaukee's title-repeat bid. Jalen Brunson and Co. will face the Toronto Raptors in December for a place in the semifinals.

The Knicks edged the Bucks behind Brunson's 37 points and five assists. Josh Hart stepped up big-time, delivering 19 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Hart's all-around game made up for Karl-Anthony Towns nine-point night.

Giannis Antetokounmpo did not miss a beat after returning from a four-game absence due to a groin injury. He finished with 30 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists. However, the Bucks fell short, which ended their title defense.

The Milwaukee Bucks played the New York Knicks on Friday in a crucial Emirates NBA Cup showdown. Milwaukee could punch a ticket to the knockout round with a win. Giannis Antetokounmpo’s return from a left groin strain increased the Bucks’ chances of pulling off an upset in New York.

The Bucks made the first significant run to take an 18-10 lead before the Knicks regrouped to regain the upper hand with a 9-0 blast. Milwaukee surged to a 32-22 advantage after AJ Green drained a 28-footer before New York closed the gap again. Behind Green's 12 first-quarter points, the Bucks ended the first 12 minutes with a 37-33 lead.

The Bucks and the Knicks followed the same script in the second quarter. Milwaukee started fast before New York rallied to keep in step. Giannis Antetokounmpo gave his team a 55-43 lead halfway through the period before the home team surged towards the end. Kyle Kuzma's 29-footer before the halftime buzzer sounded kept the Bucks in front 62-61.

The New York Knicks changed the trend in the third quarter by keeping in step with the Milwaukee Bucks right off the bat. Both teams went back-and-forth for the entire period, which the Knicks won 31-26. New York led 92-88 entering the fourth frame.

New York raced to a 9-0 run to open the fourth quarter before Milwaukee inched to within 104-102 after Giannis Antetokounmpo's dunk with 5:12 remaining. Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns made timely baskets to keep the Bucks at bay and helped their team to a 118-109 win.
