The Milwaukee Bucks and Dallas Mavericks squared off in an interconference regular-season game at the American Airlines Center on Monday. The Bucks arrived in Dallas with a 6-4 record, sitting in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. On the contrary, the Mavericks remained perched in 14th position in the West with a 3-7 record.

As for the starting lineups, Milwaukee started with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Ryan Rollins, AJ Green, Myles Turner and Gary Trent Jr. Meanwhile, the Mavericks began the game with a lineup featuring Cooper Flagg, Brandon Williams, P.J. Washington, Max Christie and Daniel Gafford.

The Bucks hit Dallas with a 12-0 run early in the first quarter and took a 14-5 lead. The visitors' early lead came despite Antetokounmpo not attempting a single shot in the first nine minutes.

The Mavericks hit back with an 8-0 run later in the period, with Klay Thompson knocking down a couple of 3-pointers off the bench. D'Angelo Russell and Naji Marshall were also productive off the bench, helping Dallas take a 31-27 lead into the second quarter.

The highlight of the second quarter was Antetokounmpo's dunk on Cooper Flagg. The Bucks went on a 12-2 run in the quarter and took a three-point lead at 44-41. The Mavericks responded with a 13-4 run of their own and entered the halftime break leading 57-53.

The Bucks struggled to find their rhythm in the third quarter and trailed 74-69 with 5:45 left in the period. Kyle Kuzma caught fire late in the third quarter, scoring eight points in the final 3:30, but the Mavericks still held an 88-79 lead heading into the fourth.

The game turned out to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller in the fourth quarter. Antetokounmpo flexed his muscle and brought the Bucks back into the game. He dominated in the fourth period and made two clutch free throws to roll out Milwaukee's path to a wild 116-114 win.
