Miami Heat vs. LA Lakers Game Summary

The LA Lakers hosted the Miami Heat at the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday as part of the NBA's eight-game slate. The Lakers entered the game on a two-game winning streak, while the Heat are in the middle of an early four-game Western road trip.

Coach Erik Spoelstra used a starting five consisting of Davion Mitchell, Pelle Larsson, Andrew Wiggins, Bam Adebayo and Kel'el Ware. The Heat are still without Tyler Herro, who underwent offseason surgery. Norman Powell has also been sidelined with a groin injury for the third consecutive game.

Meanwhile, coach JJ Redick's starting lineup featured Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, Marcus Smart, Rui Hachimura and Jaxson Hayes. The Lakers ruled out LeBron James and Deandre Ayton, so they will have a relatively smaller lineup for this game.

The LA Lakers got off to a quick 8-0 start to the game, but the Miami Heat were not going to give up that easily. The Heat kept things close until the end of the first quarter before the Lakers took over in the second half. They were up by as much as 18 points, but the game was far from over.

Miami made a furious rally in the second half and inched closer to the Lakers in the early part of the fourth quarter. However, JJ Redick gathered his troops and calmed things down. Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves closed things off for the Lakers in front of the team's new owner, Mark Walter.

The Lakers improved to 5-2 for the season, while the Heat dropped to 3-3.
